Week One: Foundations of Executive Function

In the first week, we will explore the core concepts of Executive Function. This includes:

  • In-Depth Analysis of EF Skills: A thorough examination of EF skills including in-depth explanations about each skill and how weaknesses look in learning and in daily living.
  • Basic Brain Anatomy: Understanding the neural underpinnings of EF skills.
  • Types of Motivation: Identifying and differentiating various motivational factors.
  • Developmental Milestones: Recognizing the typical progression of EF skills.

Week Two: Practical Strategies for Everyday Challenges

This week focuses on equipping you with practical strategies to support your child’s daily routines and academic tasks:

  • Morning Routines: Techniques to streamline and improve the start of the day.
  • Homework Management: Effective methods to assist with homework and study habits.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Different types of feedback to enhance motivation and engagement.

Week Three: Live Coaching Session

Engage in a 60-minute live coaching call with the cohort. This interactive session provides:

  • Troubleshooting Support: Address specific EF challenges your child is facing.
  • Peer Insights: Learn from the experiences and concerns of other parents.
  • Clarification of Material: Opportunity to ask questions about the content covered in weeks one and two.

Week Four: Executive Function and Learning

Delve into how EF skills influence various aspects of learning:

  • Role in Academic Skills: Understanding the impact of EF skills on reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Integration of EF in Learning Processes: Strategies to support EF skills within academic contexts.

Week Five: Metacognition

Explore the concept of metacognition, which is central to EF:

  • Understanding Metacognition: Learn about the process of thinking about thinking.
  • Building Metacognitive Skills: Techniques to develop and enhance these skills.
  • Role of Language: How language contributes to the development of metacognitive abilities.

Week Six: Final Live Coaching Session

Conclude the course with another 60-minute live coaching call:
